Politics and Religion

Let's start with the bottom line; they don't mix! Politics is one of my least favorite subjects, especially with who is President now and how he is acting.  Makes it hard to say that I might be a Republican. Even with my buddies, it's something we don't bring up.  Your father may have told you many times (mine did) that two subjects that you can't win an argument about are politics and religion. I don't even want to talk about politics on this page right now, but I was asked to do it. I won't ask you if you approve of the current President or even the last one. I'll only state what I think is obvious. The way the whole world perceives the U.S. is by how the government runs and acts, and the state of the military. Yes, they are directly related.  If he spends the majority of his time tweeting, fighting with the NBA and NFL, or attacking the press (and sometimes they should be attacked for the things they publish), then he most assuredly isn't devoting his time to making America better. Being as how I live overseas, and travel around, it becomes quite obvious by watching, how these people view our President.  And right now it's just plain embarrassing. They call him "rump" here (as close to saying ass as you can get). Many people overseas also refer to him as Donald Duck, because a) they think he's a quack, and b) his bill (mouth) never stops moving.
Anyway, back to the subject. Many people were against Hillary becoming President.  I was.  It's not personal.  Number one, she supposedly did some things that broke the law. Just stating what the press puts out. Another reason is that, if you know how the world really works, many countries or leaders do not believe a woman should run the country. They will not respect her at all. In their country, women cannot hold this type of position. It is something ingrained in their upbringing and thinking.  I didn't say it was right. And I didn't say I agree with it. But many politicians know these facts, and known it might hurt the image and power of the U.S. to have a woman in charge. Personally speaking, I don't care if the President is a man or woman, as long as they are dedicated, strong, capable, and responsible. But that's asking a lot these days. For the record, I didn't like Obama either, but that was because he protected the rich, and was too wishy washy for me (and he's isn't a military minded man). That's enough about politics.  It makes my head hurt!

It's a cool blue sky above!
