Troubles in the U.S.

Boy do we have troubles! Most all of them are of our own making. We still argue about race, religion, sex, gender, and other hateful things. Some of these will be issues for a long time to come. Simply because on some issues there is no middle ground. Believers of the Bible, or other religious types will never accept that men sleep with other men, and women with other women. It is simply not acceptable from their point of view. It never will be. I can give you my opinion on that too, and I'm not at all afraid to do so. But for the sake of keeping this neutral, I won't. Some race issues will not go away esily, as you can tell. Some things are negotiable, and some are not. But on this, there can be common ground, if they really WANTED to find it. When I say common ground, I do not mean slanted to either side, for or against. You can not ask for equality, while at the same time demand that you be given more than others. So the arguments continue. When you take a step back and listen, you will see that both sides may be willing to talk, but in the end, they still want things their own way. Both sides are like that. That is not true equality.

Our President is leading us to war. Our House and Senate are divided. They always are. Same thing as I said above; they only want things their own way. How can this so-called leadership really help the American people, when most of their focus seems to be on each other? Is it so hard to pass a bill or a plan that helps the people? I realize that what seems like a good thing to some, may not be to others. But the bottom line should always be the people! That is who they are there for in the first place. I know each Senator or Representative is there to help is/her own state. They should be. But it sometimes seems that, if one of them tries to pass a bill that will benefit his state, and others vote it down, then he is sure to vote against the next bill, simply because his didn't get approved. Sounds petty, doesn't it? Well, it happens all the time. It evolves to be exactly what is is right now; a Senator saying to another Senator, "If you vote yes to my bill, then I will vote yes to yours". It doesn't matter if the bill is trash or not. A bill or new law should pass or fail based on only one thing; does it better the lives of the people. Some say it is not that simple. Horseshit. It IS that simple. They are just caught up in the game that they must play.

Right now the entire U.S. is divided on whether Trump should be removed (many leaning that way), or given longer to try and make things right. While we fight amongst ourselves, other nations take advantage of us. I would if I were them. We are making ourselves weaker and weaker in the eyes of the world. There is no solid front any more. CNN drives me absolutely crazy when I bother to watch it. All they want to do is beat a dead horse. They will bring in numerous "experts" to go back and forth at each other. Talk, talk, talk. Nothing gained at all but more mistrust. The military needs funding badly to keep us on top. The Democrats don't want us to have it. They want to talk. But when there is danger to our country, they start yelling for the military to defend them. The only ones I have respect for are the reporters that are THERE, in the danger zones. In the disaster areas.

We have guys getting ambushed, and the President, their supposed Commander-in-Chief, doesn't want to show support for their families. We have guys/gals around the world still in harms way, but you barely hear about some of them. But, if somebody on the hill says something bad, it's big news. Whichh one is more important? Do we have any priorities straight anymore? But all these statements are only my personal opinions, which are just as educated as theirs. But I don't think mine counts for much, because I'm NOT a politician. Maybe I should run for office! (Not ever going to happen). I could lose the electorial vote, but still win in the peoples vote. Sound familiar?

The Democrats were absolutely sure that they had the popular vote. They, along with most of the U.S., were shocked when they didn't get it. They were dumbfounded for weeks, trying to figure out why they had lost. They looked at each other disbelievingly, and questioned the fairness of the election. They never did admit that they just plain got beat. But the real point is; why did they lose? They had a more qualified candidate. They had power in the Senate. The reason they lost is that the U.S. was very tired of the same old thing; the same promises that things would get better. People wanted a change. Well, be careful what you wish for, because you got the change all right. Now we have no idea how this is going to turn out. It may be ok, or it may be disastrous. The Democrats will just point fingers and say, "I told you so". That's easy to do. What would be better, and most people would respect them more, is if they "tried" to support their elected leader, right or wrong (mostly wrong), until he is removed from office. You don't have to agree with everything he says; I surely don't; but you must accord him the respect due his office. What if I came into the newwsroom and told their anchor (no names) that I thought he sucked at his job, and he should be removed for doing a terrible job. Would they remove him because I said so? Nope. What makes them think that because THEY say he is terrible, that their weight counts more than yours or mine. So if they are going to keep attacking the President, good reasons or bad, then they are a very big part of the whole problem. Is it because they are "journalists", and therefore they can berate and belittle anyone they choose with no repercussions?

Will Trump last much longer? I don't think so. He is too self-defeating. He believes that he has to answer to no one but himself, and that attitude shows. But EVERYONE has to answer to someone. He must answer to the people. Will the U.S. ever pull together in the same direction? I don't see that happening until there is a huge conflict or disaster that will force us to. Then it's just a bit too late, isn't it? Many will be dead by then. Am I mostly talking just to hear my head rattle? Maybe. You can't tell by all this stuff that I'm throwing out that I am normally a very quiet and non-talkative person in general. It takes me a long time just to get down this bit. But when people ask me questions, I feel it's only polite to respond. Hope you got a little controversy out of this.
