Rights and Priviledges

Let's finish this area out by talking about everything the military does for the country. There are many people out there who are against the military and all it stands for. I, personally, can't understand their attitude.  Nobody in their right mind wants to fight a war.  No one ever really wins in a battle.  Sure, one army overcomes another, no doubt.  But not without a price. There is a high price to pay for every battle fought.  This isn't something new to you. Many of our people who go to defend our country or its allies, don't come back. That's the price for freedom! Do these people think that if we disband our military that other countries will say, "Hey, that's a good idea!  Let's do that, too!".  Are people really that naive enough to believe that everybody thinks like we do? If we had no military to defend ourselves, we would be beseiged by so many different countries at the same time that they would step on themselves trying take away everything we have. The U.S. would quickly become the property of another country, and all ours "rights" that our forefathers fought to get, would all disappear in a heart beat.
The military and it's contractors protect that from happening.  You get to sleep at night in a house, with a roof, with a car in your garage, with food in your fridge, with lights in your house, because of the military out there defending those priveleges.  Privileges I hope you don't take for granted. Add to this the police, the fire fighters, the paramedics, and a lot of others who take care of you and your families.  Many of them trained by the military. Why do I say all this?  All these things you have heard before?  It's because I've "earned" the right to say it!
The only way to keep a bully from breaking down your door, taking your wife and kids, stealing your property, and killing you, is to be stronger than the bully. There is no military stronger than ours, and it's done for a reason. So, all of you who do not like the military, or what it stands for, what is your great idea? Do you want to disband all militaries around the world so everyone can live in peace? That's a great idea! But it's also impossible. You're assuming that all countries will even bother to listen to you, and do it just because YOU say it's a great idea. Most ocuntries that I have been to will scoff at you, and say that it is idealistically impossible. Many of those countries have more than one enemy that they must protect themselves from. Some of these politicians that scream to raise certain budgets while lowering the military budget are only weakening the country. Many want that money for themselves or their state, which is very understandable. They do not really believe in their hearts that other countries would attack us the moment they are given a chance. If our military was so decayed and so weak, that , even with our great size, another country thought they could overcome us, they certainly would try. More countries would meddle in our personal business than are doing it right this moment. NONE of them would, at the present, do it openly and unafraid. Why? Because of our military power. That is the ONLY reason. If you think there is any other reason, then please tell me what it is. Are they afraid to attack us because we are smarter then they are? They don't think so. Are they afraid because we are bigger? There are many countries bigger than us. Are they afraid because we have more resources? They are many countries with more natural resources than we have. Mybe they are afraid because we are taller than them? It didn't seem to scare the Vietnamese or Japanese. Then why are they afraid to attack us? Yep! You got it!They do not want to face our military! If you think anything else then you're deluded.

It's a cool blue sky above!
