Rice For All- Update Mar 2018

As of this date, we have helped many farmers get back on their feet. It's a tough way to make a living if you don't own the land. We have even helped a few that are not directly "in our area", but heard about us, and came asking for help. We go thru each one carefully, as we cannot be too kind hearted to the point that we are taken advantage of,  I, personally, don't plant rice because I don't know what I'm doing. It looks easy on TV, but it certainly isn't. And my back just can't take it. Many of the farmers try to show us (and you) their gratitude by bringing us homemade food, like soups and stews. Of course we can't send then in the mail to you. We'll just have to eat it on your behalf. Sorry about that. We do not ask them to do this, nor do we encourage it, but they will do it anyway, as it is a small way to say thank you. We really want to continue to help them, but it is all based on what we get from the donations, which fluctuate up and down, of course. The normal donations we receive are usually small amounts, so we have to wait and build up in order to help just a few. It's very much worth the effort, tho. As I mentioned on anothe page, it takes about $300 to $400 to help just one of them. So it takes a while. I truly hope that some of you will see the need to help out, and, even tho you may be far way from here, you can still do someone a good turn. I have tried many times to find other ways to do this, so that I can get out of it and focus more on my own family. But it keeps coming back to me, and my family wants to be part of it.
I hope, as you read thru this, you can see that we are only trying to give some support to people who need it. I would also hope that, if I were in the same situation, someone would care enough to give me a helping hand. I know that's rare in todays world. But there are still quite a few of us do-gooder's out there. I'm counting on you, and thanks very much!
