YOUR Help Is Needed!

As of today, 05 Oct 2017, only a small group of people have sent a donation. I expected this. I sincerely thank the ones who sent something in for the farmers. It is already in use, as the farmers start their next planting. I explained to them that it came from people outside the P.I. The donations did not all come from the U.S. It is scattered between five countries. They are very grateful, and you should be happy that you are helping someone feed their family. I will never mention any names on this site, as all donations will remain, to the outside world, anonymous. It has to come from the heart, and not for recognition.

If you will allow me to speak bluntly, I did not expect much help from the beginning.  I am in no way a negative person.  I just realize the reality of the situation. Very few people will donate to a website that is not accredited or well known.  They believe that their money will be wasted or misused. That is a reality that I understand. Also, again speaking bluntly, most people immediately shy away from anything that has to do with giving money to anyone. Their reasons vary from; mistrust, cheapness, selfishness, uncaring, and many others. One out of sixty-five (real odds) will actually consider it something that is a good cause. That is; helping someone who needs help. Most people care only about themselves, and you know this to be another reality that I understand. That is fair. I am looking for that one in every sixty-five who can see farther, recognize a good cause, and help out someone they have never, or may never even meet. A person who can part with a "few dollars", without it turning into a big deal. I am not an eloquent enough speaker to convince you into doing something, and don't want to try to "talk you into it".

Some of you are well off; some live from payday to payday. It always happens that the most contributions come from the people who can least afford it. Why? Some will say that's how the rich stay rich; by never parting with their money. A reality. Some will say that they consider themselves "too smart" to be fooled, and this is just a gimmick or a scam. Easy to convince yourself of that. Still others will say they have better things to spend their money on that some little farmer halfway around the world. Like a nice cell phone, or some great headsets. Also, a reality. I am disputing none of these facts, except one; it is not a scam.  I do not need your money that badly that I have to cheat you for it. Remember that I am a 20 year military veteran,, so I have my standards and my pride.

Back to why donations usually come from those who have the least. It's easy. These people have been through tough times, or are still going through them.  They have had it hard.  Maybe even having very little to eat, or never enough to pay the bills. They "know personally" what it feels like to fight to feed your family, and how scared you are that your children won't have anything to eat. So, when they see a cause like this, it hits them inside. They want to help others, even if no one bothered to help them. Some of them have gotten better off financially, and feel it as an obligation to help. Some have gone from poor to rich, but can never forget the feeling of wanting. Every donation, from $1 to $1000, will be used to help the farmers. My only extra expense, besides what I am already doing, is transporting the rice after harvest for sale. I am paying for that myself, and will continue to do so.

Don't misunderstand me, though; there are plenty of "rich people" who contribute to good causes every day. They are not all tightwads or pessimists. Some donate millions around the world.  But these are usually to organizations they work with or have set up themselves.  All good causes. So I do not expect any of them to jump on my bandwagon. Again, a reality I understand. Do I really think someone will, out of the blue, donate some huge amount to help me? That would be nice, wouldn't it? But it's not reality. So I'm counting on you!

The facts are, at the present time, I will only be able to help maybe one fourth of the farmers who need it. I will have to pick and choose (and I hate that!), starting with the farmers who have young children first. I want to try to help them all, but it's also a reality that I cannot. I already started a wheel turning here in the P.I., locally, where some of the bigger farmers may start to help groups of smaller farmers in their own area, but it will take a while.

So again I ask for help.  Part with a few dollars for a good cause. Forget about that Big Mac for one day only. Skip the "mocha latte" just one morning. Just hit the "donate" button. It's not that painful. And it is secure. I'm only asking you for a little help. In a few days you will barely even remember that you did it. It's not going to break you, that's for sure. If you ask me, "Why should I?". My answer is, "Why shouldn't you?". Do you have a real reason to say no? Or you just don't have the time to help someone in need? Be a superstar! Rock your boat a little bit!  It won't turn over!

It's a cool blue sky above!
