Trump is Trump!

Well, that's the truth, isn't it?  Trump is Trump. Do you expect him to change his basic behavior? Most of us just hope that he will learn to be a better leader, aI nd maybe control the mouth and the tweeting a bit. I am starting to see changes in his approach to certain issues. I watched him live on TV today, giving a speech to the troops at Yokota AB, Japan. (5 Nov). I actually thought his speech went well, and although many of his comments were directed more at the people of the U.S. and North Korea, I pretty much expected that. I thought he was better mannered, and delivered most of his comments without ad libbing too much. When he ad libs is when he gets himself in hot water. If he just stuck to the script that was prepared for him, he would be better off. But he just can't seem to keep himself from adding comments. Mostly though,, I thought it went very well for him. The troops, overall, were receptive to him, and that is because he is pro-military. When you are a military member, the last thing you want for yourself and your family, is a President that is NOT for the military. Even tho Japan WAS a huge enemy in the past, we all have to let the past go, but remember what happened, so we don't repeat it again. Now they are a good ally to have, and they are NOT weak. Now, if he can just be successful with China, and others, we might get some pressure put on North Korea before they do something that we all cannot live with. Everyone in that region will be affected, whether they have anything to do with the situation or not

But, back to Trump. I'm still not very pro-Trump yet. But I'm not against giving him a chance to do better. As long as it doesn't lead to a war, we have to try and trust him and his advisors, to a certain poin,t that they know what they are doing. I know that's pushing it, but there really are a lot of professional, dedicated, and knowledgeable people there working with him.

Trump has proven that he is good with money. What he needs to do now is learn how to be a good leader. The two do not go hand-in-hand. He has to learn how to listen to his advisors, and then make a good decision based on their inputs. What the advisors need to learn from him is that if he is pushed, he will say and do just about anything, if he thinks they are trying to take away some of his power.  They are in the middle of learning that lesson now. The best thing to do, in my humble opinion, is to try to keep him "on the rails", and try to steer him in the direction they would like him to go without him knowing it.  Not so easy. I'm not talking about intentionally misleading the President of the U.S., I'm talking about giving him advice in a way that he thinks is his best option; his idea. They are smart enough to do that. But mostly right now what the U.S. people need is a leader that seems to be in control of his office, including control of himself most of all.

It is hard for the leaders of other countries to take him as seriously as they should, when they are well aware of all the controversy at home. But he has something in his power that will always command attention, no matter what they may think of him. He is the Commander-in-Chief of the strongest, most awesome military in the history of the world. That will make any leader anywhere, regardless of their personal opinion of him, listen to what he says. That is the real strength of the U.S. people. If you do not agree with this, then you may not know your history very well.

Given time, and if he actually tries, Trump may become a good leader. He may not. We have yet to see.

It's a cool blue sky above!
